Arizona In '08' Tard Vaca!

Here is a propsed outline of the AZ vacation submitted for review, scrutiny, alteration & input. :)

The AZ excursion begins directly following the annual Texas Cowboy Memorial Shoot. All are welcome & the more the merrier!

For those who will be driving to AZ from Texas, Hijinx & Sandrat kick off the southern portion of the journey from Sierra Vista. The southern tour will include a visit to "The City To Tough To Die" Tombstone. Another great point of interest for the southern tour is "Arizona's Hollywood In The Desert"....The Old Tucson Studios.

For those who will be flying in Phoenix has a major airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor which is only minutes away from Scottsdale.

No pressure on arrival dates but we hope that everyone can be in Scottsdale by the 5th of May to celebrate NYTexans birthday! This day will include a tour of Old Town Scottsdale & a birthday celebration dinner at one of old towns fine restaurants. Perhaps the "Old Town Tortilla Factory" will do nicely.

On Tuesday we take a day trip up to the charming town of Prescott with a stroll down "Whiskey Row" & a visit to it's historical County Courthouse. Hijinx says it's a must stop at the Rock Springs Cafe & General Store for some good eats.

Wednesday we head up to the beautiful red rock country of Sedona for an overnight stay. There is so much to see & do in Sedona for example the "The Chapel Of The Holy Cross", shopping at Tlaquepaque (pronounced Tla-keh-pah-keh) or perhaps even your own self guided four wheel adventure!

On Thursday we head over for a wonderful adventure on the "Verde Canyon Railroad" where we're sure to see some wonderful views & native wildlife before heading back to Scottsdale.

By Friday you should all be pretty well worn out so perhaps some leisurely local points of attraction in the Scottsdale & Phoenix area are in order. Rawhide is always a ton of fun. Rest up a bit because Friday it's some western fun at Greasewood Flat an outdoor setting under the stars with live music & even dancing if you're so inclined!

Now....these plans can certainly be altered, for example we can certainly extend our Sedona stay to spend two nights as opposed to one. I'm just not sure when everyone will need head back down to the city to start their trip back home.

The housing aspect is one that will need some additional planning. Below are a few links to give you some ideas. There are countless hotels within minutes of here & also some condo & house rentals as well.
